Here, at last, I have my first batch of Christmas greetings cards ready to go. I say ‘at last’ because if crafter TV shows are correct, most card makers have been on the festive case since June, and I am late!
True, we’ve only just had a lovely warm and sunny Bank Holiday weekend but ‘Back to School’ is this week’s hot topic and the days are getting noticeably shorter. If I need more evidence that the clock is ticking, my friend has already started bottling her pickled onions in preparation for ‘the season’ and in the garden centre last week they were clearing a large space which no doubt will be filled with fairy lights and tinsel the next time I visit.
I made these cards using lovely Woodware stamps designed by Jane Gill and Francoise Read. The stamps do most of the work and I get to play with the colours and papers. They’ve produced a whole new collection for 2017 – some traditional, some more modern and quirky – and I suspect my second batch will also feature their designs.
For now though, the sun is shining and I’m off to sit in the garden while I still can.
I’ll see you back in the craft room when the weather turns.
