The beginning

Here I am, new blog set up and ready to go – tick!Heart and tree

Now I need to get on, otherwise, to quote Neil Gaiman,

“days and weeks can blow away like dead leaves, with nothing to show but time you spent not quite ever doing things, or time you spent waiting to begin.”

So, I will begin with a few ambitions for my crafty future to encourage me to get on and try the new stuff.

To start with I’d like to:

  • make a proper patchwork quilt, which will be quite an achievement as so far I have only made a fleece backed, crazy quilt for the dog. Still, everyone starts somewhere.
  • make some serious progress on my family scrapbook, beyond the one (yes one, but it’s very pretty) page that I’ve completed so far.
  • knit a sock. I know they ought to be made in pairs but I’ve heard of ‘second sock syndrome’ and don’t want to get ahead of myself.
  • try some of the fancy bead weaving patterns that I’ve seen on the web and perhaps create some patterns of my own.

There, that should keep me busy for a while. Come back later and see how I get on.
